@amit Yeah, I thought it was really well put together and would be helpful for others!
@DrOct (Yes I'm one of those weirdo's that used Google+! It was/is surprisingly big in the tabletop role playing gaming scene, and a group of real life friends who used to share amongst eachtoher in the Google Reader days continued to do the same thing on Google+ for a while, though participation in that arena has dwindled over the years and redesigns).
@kensanata I definitly want to give you credit! And hopefully help you connect with more people!
@kensanata Great post and set of tips on joining a new social network and really getting involved. If you dont' mind I may share your post over here on micro.blog!
@DrOct I definitely don't want to import all of my Google+ posts (some of which are better left private) but I would like to import some selected ones. I've got a number of comic book related posts and tabletop roleplaying posts that I think would fit right in on my blog here at micro.blog.
@davextreme This seems like a good strategy!
@grayareas I just ran into the same problem I cant' seem to post from the web with pictures. Also using Firefox on Windows.
@pratik Ah! That explains it! It's been many years since I've been to the campus. Looks very cool.
@pratik Huh, I guess either I've never been to that part of campus or I just don't remember it. Lots of my family went to UT Austin so I've been there numerous times. That's very cool though. Maybe I'll have to make a special visit the next time I visit my family in Austin!
@davextreme Neat!
@DrOct (The "that" I'm referring to is displaying webmentions)
@amit Ooooh... interesting. I've noticed some people doing that on wordpress sites and would be potentially interested in doing the same now on my micro.blog hosted site...
@eli Yeah, the past couple of days I've been using the headphone cord on mine whenever I go outside, because I know it's cold enough they'll shut themselves down to protect the battery before I get wherever I'm going. It's nice to have that option.
@manton - Oh wow! We even get custom RSS feeds for categories! Perfect!
This is exciting because I'm trying to keep in touch with the Google+ Tabletop community (Google+ was weirdly big in the tabletop role playing game community) after Google+ goes away. Some of us are going back to blogging and there are various efforts to set up aggregators of blog content and such after Google+ shuts down. My blog is pretty general, but I do talk about role playing games some. I wouldn't want all of my content going into those aggregators (and they wouldn't want all of it!) so an RSS feed of just what goes into my tabletop game category is perfect!
@smokey Looks great!
@davextreme (The Paneer and cabbage on nann look great too!)
@pratik Neat! Where is that?
@manton Oh wow! I'm super excited about categories!
@davextreme I've never heard of Thums Up cola! How is it? Where did you get it? What makes it special?
@JohnPhilpin Thanks!
@Gabz I'm sorry you've been going through that. I've been through similar things from time to time. I hope maybe recognizing that you may still be greiving for that other job may help? Anyway, best of luck to you. I hope talking about it is helpful.
@darius I'd never read that before. That was great!
@amit Glad to hear that! I was very mildly concerned!
@eli Thanks!
